turns out I can get a previous year S1000R for roughly the same price as the MT-10.
now I’m really confused. The bavarian has one HELL of a motor to go with it, and the brakes are better.
However, the yamaha sounds like god himself, and it will probably be a little bit easier to service. MAYBE???? There are a lot of BMW dealers around Toronto...
GAH.

Hmm, less compromise with the BMW?

the BMW I need to budget another $500 to get a dealer specific tool. and its going to have a BMW tax on after market parts.
and I lose the noise.
but its faster, easier to sell my parents on it (dad is a BMW snob...already has a F800r in the garage) and might last longer? IDk, its not like yamaha is known for unreliable bikes.

But, new bike or used bike? I mean if you’ve never had a brand new bike, why not? They both seem like beasts.
Also, saw my first new R1 on the road this weekend! Freaking sweet looking.

It would be new, just last years model.
Our current BMW was new, the buell we had was new, and the black SV I got almost new (5000km on it)
Wouldnt be the first new bike. So eh.

Well then, harder choices. I’m really liking the look of the MT-10 / FZ-10, whatever they are calling it in the different parts of the world. I like where their FZ line is going.
